Show a Little Self-Care

I'm no self-care guru. In fact, I'm the complete opposite and I'm not too good at doing things for myself. Looking after myself doesn't come naturally for me and getting out of a self-destructive past is not always an easy thing to do.

It's not that I don't want to do nice things for myself, it's actually because I'm lazy and my problem is making time to care for my body.


  • It took me two months to get around to painting my nails.
  • I moisturise my body maybe once a week if my room is warm enough and I'm in no rush.
  • My leg hair pokes out the bottom of my jeans too many times to count.
  • I struggle with sleeping too long.
  • I have to hide those designer bags under my eyes (I know, I know, like you haven't heard that one before.) Honestly, once my makeup comes off I look like death.
  • I'm 21 and I still forget to brush my teeth twice a day. Gross.

So how do I do better? I need to make time for myself and care for my skin, nails and hair. Maybe you can relate? Because at the end of the day I know I feel good about myself when I do all these things. As an extension to my new year's resolutions 'I won't be mean to myself', is to care for myself and my body. I am, however, human and I'm not perfect and never will be... but I'd like to feel good about myself and that's cool.
